The Music Of Duke Ellington: On A Tur...

Description

On a Turquoise Cloud brings a stunning chapter of the Ellington songbook to light, curated by singer/scholar Candice Hoyes with artistic direction and original arrangements by bassist Noah Jackson. Comprised of rarely-performed songs that remain as innovative today as they were in Ellington’s day, “On a Turquoise Cloud” paved the way in style and substance for today’s musical theater, soul, and contemporary classical music. This rare, genre-bending collection has been nearly unknown since Duke Ellington's performances over 70 years ago, and was reclaimed by Hoyes through research. With Jackson’s creative approach, a unique blend of jazz quartet and string quartet, this concert promises to inspire music lovers of every persuasion.
