This intensive week long workshop provides young flutists invaluable instruction in flute study. Designed for the serious middle school and high school flutist, this workshop focuses on a variety of musical topics; proper breathing, embouchure, productive warm up and practice techniques as well as repertoire and study materials. Led by Dennis Carter; principal flutist with the Warren and Plymouth Canton Symphonies and winner of the 2009 Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Classical Instrumentalist. Participants are expected to bring their own instruments. The workshop culminates with a recital in the Macomb Center's Stage II. Session Date: August 8 - 12, 2016 Grades: 6 - 12 The schedule for the week is as follows: Monday -Friday: Session 1; Grades 6-8;    9am-12pm  
Session 2; Grades 9-12;   1pm-4pm
