Birmingham Society of Women Painters exhibition opens on September 16th and will remain on display until October 14th, 2016. A free public reception will be hosted by the artist group on September 24th, 2016, from 1-3pm at the Anton Art Center. For more than seventy years, the Birmingham Society of Women Painters (BSWP) has brought together artists of merit to further their shared interests. In 1944, the BSWP was founded to provide formal instruction and workspace for women painters. Today, the artist group is a dynamic organization of over 60 artists working in diverse media with a commitment to the highest standards in creative expression and art education.
