Description
The Great Lakes Policy Conference (GLPC) is the premier regional forum bringing together business leaders, policymakers, economic development professionals, environmental experts, and industry innovators to explore one of the Great Lakes region's greatest economic assets—our freshwater resources.
Presented by the Macomb County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Macomb County Planning & Economic Development Department, the conference positions Lake St. Clair and the Great Lakes as catalysts for economic growth, business investment, environmental stewardship, and regional collaboration.
More than an environmental discussion, the Great Lakes Policy Conference is a business conference focused on the emerging Blue Economy, focused on the industries, infrastructure, innovation, recreation, and policies that drive billions of dollars in economic activity throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes region.
Throughout the day, attendees will hear from nationally recognized experts, elected officials, economic development leaders, environmental organizations, tourism professionals, and private industry executives as they examine topics including:
- The economic impact and future of the Great Lakes
- Waterfront development and tourism opportunities
- Maritime commerce, logistics, defense, and water technology
- Recreation and boating as economic drivers
- Environmental restoration and infrastructure investment
- Workforce development and emerging industry needs
- Public policy and funding opportunities shaping the region's future
